Does Weight Loss Get Rid of Cellulite?

The appearance of cellulites is a common skin condition among a high percentage of women than men. Cellulites are gender-typical to us, women, because of our distinct skin anatomy. We have unequal amounts of subcutaneous fats and connective tissues and the denseness of our dermis and epidermis differs from men. Studies reveal that women of all races are susceptible to cellulites. Our factors such as heredity, age, and lifestyle contribute to the cellulite appearances.

Cellulites are the dimpled skin appearances that often manifest on the thighs, hips, buttocks, and abdomen. The primary cause of cellulites is the distortion of the connective tissues due to the pushing of stored fat deposits and toxins contributing to the uneasiness of fat cells. It is important to note that cellulites are not considered as a skin disease and they must not be associated with the term cellulitis, a bacterial infection of the skin tissues. Cellulites are normal and cannot be completely avoided, but we can delay their manifestation on our skin.

Shrinking fat cells in our skin tissue helps lessen the appearance of cellulites and there are various ways on how to achieve this. One way is by drinking plenty of fluids, especially water, to hydrate and wash out toxin residues in the body. Second, detoxification is also an effective way to keep our skin and cells healthy. Another treatment is a massage therapy that helps redistribute fats in areas of the body affected by cellulites. Endermologie is a FDA-approved device that does this. Meanwhile, in the market, there are anti-cellulite creams with enriched collagen substance and methyxanthines. They are dermatologically proven thus are recommended to be used together with other treatments. But the common treatment practiced by many is through cardiovascular exercises. Physical exercises improves blood flow, heart rate, oxygenates body organs, removes body toxins through sweat, and tones our muscles and skin tissues. The toning benefit of exercising is very helpful in reducing cellulites and weight loss. However, a lot are curious to know if does weight loss get rid off cellulite.  The truth is, weight loss does not completely reduce the appearance of cellulites but improves it. A person with an active and healthy lifestyle is more likely to have lesser visible cellulites than a person with a sedentary lifestyle. Cellulites can appear to anyone’s body, whether an obese or a person with slender body but the former is more likely to have visible cellulites while the latter may also acquire them but can only be visible when she crosses her legs, sits, or lie down.
